As most of you know, we spent the entire month of June (well between road trips and epic bike rides) working on our courtyard deck for the Outdoor Makeover Challenge. Nicole from Meet the B’s and I worked together to give our outdoor spaces a whole new look with budget friendly shopping and a ton DIY’s. In the end, I was SO incredibly thrilled with how it all came together (check out our final reveal here) and absolutely adore Nicole’s new space too (check it out here)! As you can imagine, all of that bargain shopping and DIY’ing took hours of scouring on Pinterest … we found SO MANY fabulous ideas that we couldn’t possibly make them all. So, today we thought we’d share just a few of our favorite discoveries for Outdoor DIY Projects and Recipes.
I am SO IN LOVE with this gorgeous Pallet Wood Sofa by Funky Junk Interiors! Piled high with cushions and that lovely blanket, it looks like the perfect place to curl up with a cup of tea and a good book!
The bright colour of this DIY Chandelier by Corey at Tiny Sidekick totally caught my eye! Such a creative up-cycle and it looks absolutely perfect in her outdoor space!
This DIY Door Mat by How Does She is such a simple idea, but I’m totally crushing on the rustic look of it! I think it would look absolutely perfect outside my front door!
What would a Summer round up be without a yummy fruit desert?! I couldn’t help but share this Fruit Pizza recipe by Sally’s Baking Addiction.
Still on the hunt for a DIY bar for our new courtyard deck, this Up-Cycled Beverage Station popped up in my search. I instantly fell in love with the rustic country charm! I just love how Christy at Our Southern Home not only re-purposed this old door, but did SUCH an amazing job of creating a truly beautiful and useful piece for her space!
What could be better than berries and Moscato wine?! My mouth was watering the minute I saw these Mixed Berry Moscato Gelees!!! Seriously, I can’t think of anything more perfect to savor on my new deck during those few moments to myself after bedtime!
It can be pretty hard to enjoy the great outdoors when you are surrounded by pesky bugs! So, when I saw these 14 Totally Organic Ways to Get Rid of Bugs and Pests, I couldn’t help but share!
I don’t have to tell you, this Outdoor Marquees Light by Tatertots & Jello is SO fabulous!!! I am definitely going to have to make one of these for our outdoor space!

This Sparkling Blueberry Lemonade from Sypsie Designs looks SO refreshing! Would be perfect for all of these hot summer days we’ve got coming to us!
This DIY Bench by My Daily Randomness is absolutely stunning!!! I really LOVE the planters at either end!

This Outdoor Sofa made from a Cast Iron Bathtub by One Krieger Chick has to be THE MOST CREATIVE use of an old tub that I have ever seen!!! I just looks so unique and inviting!!!
I have made this Macaroni Salad more than a few times since discovering it a couple of months ago and it is SUPER yummy! A quick and easy recipe perfect for a backyard BBQ!
