Build, launch, operate. Phantom Space is an end-to-end satellite mission provider. A lot of satellite companies are not “space” companies. They are SaaS or data that rely on satellites. At Tropical Weather Analytics, Inc. we are focused on product and customer solutions that reduce the impact of weather on businesses and governments. Not building our own satellites was one of the wiser decisions we made. Some New Space companies would have been better served by contracting out the spacecraft building part. Many startups with great tech should consider focusing on the product they deliver to customers and ledge the build, launch and operation to a qualified and proven team. Trust me, there are always unexpected delays and problems on the road to sat manufacturing.www.weathersats.com

One thing we are looking forward to when our Hurricane Hunter Satellitds launch is combining SAR data with our wind and cloud data. Great article out of ICEYE. Hurricane season is almost here and now is the time to prepare. www.weathersats.com

Investing in prevention is exponentially cheaper than paying for clean-up and rebuild. As Climate Change continues to make weather weird and cost us more than ever before, we need to invest in improving forecasts and getting more stake holders that can share and integrate critical data. This is a good step in that direction.#weather #hurricaneseason #space #smallsatNOAA Satellite and Information Service

Leveraging weather intelligence to help meet sustainability goals doesn't just make environmental sense, it makes good business sense.Along with improving hurricane forecasts, Tropical Weather Analytics, Inc. Hurricane Hunter Satellites collect global wind and cloud data that can solve existing business challenges across entire industries. Business cases include:1. Ocean vessels can save 4% of fuel costs per voyage.2. Farmers can gain 10% in productivity.3. Airlines can save 2% of fuel costs per flight and save millions per year by flying around turbulence.4. Offshore oilrigs can save hundreds of millions per year with more granular hurricane and extreme weather forecasts. "More data" and "better data" are not the same as unique data that can deliver an asymmetrical competitive advantage. The Hurricane Hunter Satellites will be the very first sats to collect 3D wind data and cloud altitudes/characterizations on a global scale at a revisit rate that will significantly improve weather forecasts.
