Santa Fe officer facing battery charges after another domestic dispute
YEAH, DARLENE IS AT LEAST THE SECOND ONE FOR CHRISTOPHER LAMOREAUX. NOW, OVER A YEAR AGO, HE WAS INVOLVED IN ANOTHER FIGHT WITH THE SAME GIRLFRIEND. BUT THAT WASN’T THE ONLY SIMILARITY BETWEEN THIS IS CHRISTOPHER LAMOREAUX IS SEEN HERE GETTING A PROMOTION FROM THE SANTA FE POLICE DEPARTMENT’S FACEBOOK PAGE. IT HAPPENED BACK IN 2021, BUT ALMOST THREE YEARS LATER, A DIFFERENT STORY. THE SENIOR POLICE OFFICER NOW CHARGED WITH BATTERY. ACCORDING TO THIS CRIMINAL COMPLAINT, LAMOREAUX GOT INTO A VERBAL AND PHYSICAL ARGUMENT WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND ERICA MARTINEZ, TAKING PLACE AT THEIR RIO RANCHO HOME, THE SAME HOME THAT OFFICERS WERE CALLED TO LAST APRIL. STEP OUT HERE. POLICE SEEN HANDCUFFING MARTINEZ THAT SUNDAY. THEY THEN ESCORTING HER TO A SQUAD CAR AFTER ANOTHER ARGUMENT. MEANWHILE, LAMOREAUX AND THEIR BABY GIRL LEFT INSIDE, CLEARLY SHAKEN UP. WE’RE OKAY, WE’RE OKAY, WE’RE OKAY. JUST STEPS AWAY, A BROKEN GLASS DOOR AND A CINDER BLOCK NEARBY. LAMOREAUX TELLING POLICE THAT MARTINEZ THREW IT. WE’VE HAD LITTLE ARGUMENTS AND ALL THAT STUFF BEFORE. YEAH, WE HAVE, BUT NOTHING, NOTHING THIS EXCESSIVE. AND THEN, I MEAN, SHE’S DAMAGED SOME STUFF BEFORE. I MEAN, IF YOU LOOK IN THE BEDROOM RIGHT THERE, THERE’S THAT’S BEEN THAT’S A PREVIOUS INCIDENT BACK AT THE PATROL CAR, MARTINEZ CLAIMED THAT LAMOREAUX ALSO GOT VIOLENT, EVEN IMPLYING THERE’S BEEN OTHER INSTANCES LIKE THIS BEFORE HE HAS ANGER ISSUES. HE GOT IN MY FACE. HE GRABBED ME BY MY SHIRT, THREW ME. SO, YEAH, I ATTACKED HIM BACK. I DON’T TRUST HIM WITH MY BABY BECAUSE THIS ISN’T THE FIRST TIME THAT WE’VE. HE’S PUT HIS HANDS ON ME. AND NOW WE HAVE MADE AN OFFICIAL REQUEST. SO THE RIO RANCHO POLICE DEPARTMENT TO SEE IF WE CAN GET THAT BODY CAMERA VIDEO FROM THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT. WE’LL LET YOU KNOW WHEN WE GET IT. BUT FOR NO

Below are pictures from the department's Facebook page.However, almost three years later, a different story. The senior police officer is now charged with battery. According to a criminal complaint obtained by KOAT, Lamoreux got into a verbal and physical argument with his girlfriend, Erica Martinez.It happened at their Rio Rancho home, which is the same home that police officers were called to in April 2023. As seen in body camera video from the Rio Rancho Police Department, officers handcuffed Martinez that Sunday. They then escorted her to a squad car after another argument between the couple. Meanwhile, Lamoreux and their infant daughter were left inside and clearly shaken up.Just steps away from that scene, a broken glass door. It was smashed by a cinder block and Lamoreux told police that Martinez threw it.Back at the patrol car, Martinez claimed that the Santa Fe officer also got violent. She even implied that there's been other instances like this before.
