Map a My Cloud or My Cloud Home network share on macOS and access the data.
IMPORTANT:
Connect and map a password protected share before a non-password protected Public share.

Map Drive Using SMB (Samba)
The Server Message Block Protocol (SMB) is a client-server process used for sharing access to files, printers, serial ports, and other resources on a network. Samba is an open-source version for Unix and Linux.

- Get the name of WD network drive.
Use the Default Network Path from the table unless the name has been changed.EXAMPLE NAME CHANGE:
- smb://tim-mycloud.local
- smb://tim-NAS.local

Click Connect.
- Private Share Access
Select Connect As.
Select Registered User.
Enter the Name and Password of the user with access to the share. - Public Share Access
Select Guest.
Click Connect.
Press OK.
Click Preferences.
Click Connected Servers to checkmark the box.
Click the red circle to close the window.

Map Drive Using AFP (Apple Filing Protocol)
Apple File Protocol (AFP) is no longer supported on My Cloud OS 5 firmware 5.19.197 and My Cloud Home firmware 7.16.0-217 and higher.

- Click Go.
- Click Connect to Server.
- Enter afp://devicename (e.g. afp://wdmycloudex2.local and afp://mycloudpr2100.local)
Click Connect.- Private Share Access
Select Connect As.
Select Registered User.
Enter the Name and Password of the user with access to the share. - Public Share Access
Select Guest.
Click Connect.
- Private Share Access
- Select a Share.
Press OK. - Click Finder.
Click Preferences. - Select General.
Click Connected Servers to checkmark the box.
Click the red circle to close the window.
